Take a walk on the wild side!
Discover creatures great and small in Janie Crean’s paintings of wildlife. She is drawn to the freedom of wild animals and loves revealing their stories through their images. In her paintings, her animals’ expressions and attitudes tell the story: the grandeur of the sharp-eyed Bald Eagle, the determination of American Buffaloes in winter, or the charm of a sleeping Red Fox Kit. Placing animals in researched habitats, she recreates the beauty of wildlife. Janie states, “I want my wildlife to seem real or ‘touchable’ and for the viewer to see the nobility and intelligence of each one.”
Janie opens a window on the world of familiar animals. Their movements, gestures, and personalities all create a glimpse into their life: the strength and challenge of a Longhorn Bull, the batting lashes of a Piebald Heifer, or the chattering of a pair of Red-tail Squirrels. “ I try to capture the essence of each animal by adding strokes and layers of paint until the unique spirit of each animal is uncovered,” said Janie.
Painting animals have become a true passion for Janie and she enjoys the challenge of painting all the fur and feathers, the expressions and attitudes, that each animal has in the wild, on a ranch, or in your back yard.
